Begin your search for qualified Interior designers at a professional body like the American Society of Interior Designers. To be a member of this body, an interior designer has to be accredited thus all members there are qualified interior designers. Get a list of telephone number and start arranging for interviews with the interior designers.

Once you have called and arrange interview or appointments with the interior designers, discuss in detail what you like to do in terms of decorating. The designers after meetings will be able to come up with a plan to meet your requirements.

Next, check with the interior designers their costing methods. Different designers have different ways of charging, some of them charges by the hour and some by a cost plus method. Others use a combination of both methods.

Thirdly, upon selecting your interior designer, allocate a budget to the designer to work with. The clarity of the budget that you wish to spend should be ascertained right at the beginning of the project to avoid disappointment and frustration to both parties.

Lastly, by having visual drawings, you can picture whether the designs conform to your expectations. Therefore, before any actual works are carried be sure to get the interior designers to do a rendering or drawings of the renovations work.
